How To Network: Three Top Tips

Networking is powerful in the business world. Having the right connections and people in the right places can help you to achieve and get results quicker. Building trust and respect is important here and is something that takes time to forge naturally.

2). Don’t always speak to the same people

At networking events, it’s important to go and speak to new people. Talk to the ones in the room that you’ve never spoken to before and be the listener. Get to know them and listen to what they do. People love to talk about themselves and asking questions about the of the other individual is a great way to nurture their ego and allow them an opportunity for themselves to open up to you.

3). Follow up

Building a network and high-quality relationships takes time. If you meet someone or come away from a networking event having a valuable conversation it’s important to invest and build on this by following up at a later date. Keeping the dialogue open is important and puts in place the first proper foundation block for the relationship to grow.
