Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week

Big Motoring World Group, is an expanding dealer group that is going from strength to strength and we are looking to employ MOT Testers at our National Preparation and Distribution Centre. Working as an MOT Tester within our busy workshop team, will mean carrying out MOTs on vehicles to approved standards.

This role reports into the Workshop Manager and has no line management responsibility.

 

Role and responsibilities:

  • MOT all vehicles presented to you, ensuring a high quality of work every time
  • Carry out class 4 MOT inspections, checking vehicles against VOSA legislation
  • Make sure that paperwork is accurate and up to date
  • Carry out minor repair work in line with management requests
  • Ensure all jobs are completed within agreed timeframes and that a high level of productivity is maintained
  • Take pride and responsibility for your own appearance as well as the appearance and organisation of the site in which you work
  • Complete paperwork tasks efficiently and in a timely manner, including MOT certificate re-prints when requested

 

Person specification:

  • A full, valid UK driving licence is required
  • A current, valid MOT licence
  • Relevant qualification and experience in class 4 MOT testing
  • Able to carry out quality control checks effectively
  • Good communicative skills and ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
  • Honesty and integrity
  • Demonstrates a flexible approach to work that is focused on “getting the job done”
  • Team player
  • Effective time management and flexibility in working patterns needed
  • Literate, numerate and proficient computer skills
  • Demonstrates an honest and diligent approach to work
  • Systematic and organised; pays attention to the finer details
  • First Aid certified (Desirable)
