PDI & Diagnostic Technician


Location: Snodland, Kent

Salary: Dependent on skills and experience

Hours: Monday to Friday, 08.30 - 18.00, 1 in 4 weekend working required 


Big Motoring World Group, is an expanding dealer group that is going from strength to strength and is looking to employ a PDI & Diagnostic Technician for the day shift at their Snodland Service Centre. Working as a PDI & Diagnostic Technician within our busy workshop team will mean carrying out PDIs on vehicles to approved standards and diagnosing multiple brands using appropriate equipment.

This role reports into the Workshop Manager and has no line management responsibility.

You will work between 08.30 and 18.00 Monday to Friday at our Service Centre in Snodland.


Role and responsibilities:

  • Carry out PDI to the highest standards as directed by workshop control
  • Diagnose multiple brands with accuracy using modern diagnostic equipment
  • Carry out all tasks in line with your skills and the business requirements, to the highest quality standards at all times
  • Maintain high standards of house-keeping
  • To work closely with retail


Person specification

  • A full, valid UK driving licence is required
  • Dealer experience preferable but not essential
  • VOSA approved MOT tester also an advantage but not essential
  • Time served or hold NVQ qualification of Level 3
  • Take pride and responsibility for your own appearance as well as the appearance and organisation of the site in which you work
  • Good communicative skills and ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
  • Prior experience of working to efficiency targets
  • Demonstrates a flexible approach to work that is focused on “getting the job done”
  • Team player
  • Effective time management and flexibility in working patterns needed
  • Literate, numerate and proficient computer skills

  • Your own full set of Tools
  • First Aid certified (Desirable)
  • Prestige vehicle experience would be an advantage (desirable)
