Salary: £28,000 pa

Job Type: Full Time – Permanent

Hours: Monday to Friday, 42.5 hours per week

Big Motoring World Group, is an expanding dealer group that is going from strength to strength and we are looking to employ PDI Technicians at our National Preparation and Distribution Centre. Working as a PDI Technician within our busy workshop team will mean carrying out PDIs on vehicles to approved standards. This role reports into the Workshop Manager and has no line management responsibility.

 

Role and responsibilities:

  • Ability to carry out vehicle inspections and advise on faults requiring to be rectified
  • Carry out vehicle inspections to the highest standards as directed by workshop control, including all mechanical repairs
  • Carry out all tasks in line with your skills and the business requirements, to the highest quality standards at all times
  • Maintain high standards of house-keeping
  • Mentor and support Junior Technicians and Apprentices as the business requires

 

Person specification:

  • A full, valid UK driving licence is required
  • Dealer experience preferable but not essential
  • VOSA approved MOT tester also an advantage but not essential
  • Time served or hold NVQ qualification of Level 3
  • Take pride and responsibility for your own appearance as well as the appearance and organisation of the site in which you work
  • Good communicative skills and ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions
  • Prior experience of working to efficiency targets
  • Demonstrates a flexible approach to work that is focused on “getting the job done”
  • Team player
  • Effective time management and flexibility in working patterns needed
  • Literate, numerate and proficient computer skills

  • Your own full set of Tools
  • First Aid certified (Desirable)
